The Australia Travel Tips You Need To Know
Visas
Organize your visa BEFORE you leave – you don’t want to end up on being deported because you didn’t fulfil the immigration requirements before you arrived on Aussie soil.
All visitors to Australia are required to apply for an ‘Australian Tourist Visa’ which (depending on what passport you have) you may be able to apply online. This visa will allow you up to 3 months travel in Australia as a visitor (you will not be able to work with this visa). There are a range of visa options available depending on the purpose and the length of your stay.
Baggage
Check your airline’s baggage requirements so you don’t end up wasting valuable spending money on excess baggage fees. Most airlines in Australia have a 20kg limit but budget flights might be even less than that. You’ll be able to find this information on any of the reputable airline’s websites.
Clothing
Pack the appropriate clothes for the season. Australia has a very warm climate but be sure to check the local forecast before you go so that you don’t end up with the complete wrong wardrobe – perhaps a bigger drama for the females but nonetheless inconvenient!
You can expect temperatures in Australia to be anywhere from 1-20 degrees celsius in the winter and 25-45 in the summer!
Safety
Australia is a very safe country to travel around – it has one of the lowest crime rates in the world – and other than the usual common sense required for any travel you can’t go too wrong.
Australia is full of very laidback and friendly people – not to mention home to one of the most varied and beautiful landscapes on the planet. Australia should definitely be added to your ‘to visit’ list!
