World Travel Tips
People are traveling now more than ever and there’s no sign of it stopping anytime soon. With airlines flying to all 4 corners of the globe, people young and old are taking advantage and exploring the world. No matter where you go, what you’re doing or who you’re with there are several travel tips that you need to consider for any adventure, big or small.
Some World Travel Tips For Any Globetrotter
- Research, research, research – an informed traveller is a safe traveller! With Google just a click away you’ve got no excuse but to find out the who, what, where and how of your ideal travel destination. The most important things to look into are whether there are travel warnings for the area, what vaccinations you need, what you should bring, what visa you need, how long you can stay but the list could go on and on.
- Have your travel documents in order BEFORE you leave! Each country around the world has different requirements when it comes to travel visas and what you need to be allowed to enter. Find out what you need visa-wise at least two months before you’re due to depart as some visas can take up to 6 weeks to be processed. Don’t try and rely on fate, immigration officers do not take kindly to ill-prepared tourists and they won’t hesitate to stop your trip before its even begun.
- Pack smart, pack light! There is nothing worse than forking out extra money for excess baggage not to mention getting stuck dragging around uneccessary gear for your whole trip. My rule for traveling is that if I haven’t worn it in 3 months then I’m not going to wear it on the trip so don’t pack it. The purpose of your trip will greatly influence what you should pack but if sightseeing is your main objective I suggest you pack lots of underwear, 1 pair of walking shoes, 1 pair of casual shoes, 1 pair of dressy shoes, 1 dressy outfit and lots of comfortable clothes to spend your days exploring the sights.
- Plan ahead when traveling with pets! Traveling with pets can be tricky business depending on your travel destination. Some countries have a forced quarantine which will mean your pets have to spend up to 6 months in a government facility before they can be cleared. Obviously how long you intend to stay at your destination will influence whether the quarantine will be worthwhile or not.
Always, always, always prepare before a trip – big or small – being prepared will help you enjoy every aspect of the holiday so you can make memories you’ll remember forever.
